When we worked as employees in other companies, we were often in positions where had to make compromises with quality to achieve our goals. We were often in position where we felt we were betraying not only the people buying those houses but ourselves as civil engineers. We were also extremely disappointed with the general lethargy towards change and the reluctance to embrace new technology in the construction industry. Above all, we noticed that most companies and builders were interested in just handing over houses and stopped responding to any issues that cropped up. It was a hit and run. This did not sit well with us.
